History

The City of Canterbury has something for everyone. This UNESCO World Heritage site incorporates numerous museums and historic buildings including Canterbury Cathedral founded in 597AD, as well as a variety of high street stores, independent shops and a twice weekly market. There are a multitude of different types of restaurants, pubs, cafes and nightclubs and other entertainment is provided by the Marlowe and Gulbenkian theatres and the Curzon Cinema. There are two mainline stations including Canterbury West with the fast train that can take you to St Pancras in less than an hour.

Eductaion

Educational facilities cannot be surpassed as the city has three universities, three first class private schools and three grammar schools including Simon Langton Boys rated Outstanding by Ofsted. Canterbury is home to the Kent County Cricket Club and other sports are available at the Polo Farm Sports club and Canterbury golf club as well as bowls, tennis and rugby while swimming is available at the Kingsmead Leisure Centre.
