Bedford is conveniently located for commuting into London, St Albans and further afield. It has fantastic train links and is well situated for the A1. Bedford is close to both the M1 and A1 which gives you access to both the North and south and the train station in Bedford will take you into St Pancras in around an hour.
The town itself is situated on River Great Ouse and is lined with gardens, known as the embankment. This is a beautiful place to take a walk or to go rowing. Rowing is a major part of the Bedford sports scene with many regattas held throughout the year. There are also long-established rugby and football teams, as well as being the home to many Golf Courses and cricket clubs.
The town is also well known for its fantastic schools, including four private schools; Bedford School, Bedford Modern School, Bedford Girls School and Pilgrims Pre-Preparatory School. It also hosts a campus for the University of Bedfordshire.
The Riverside at Bedford has an extensive range of restaurants, bars and a cinema, and the town has a great selection of shops, including The Harper Shopping Centre.
